What is Net revenue retention?

Revenue kept from existing customers after expansion, contraction and churn.

Definition

NRR is starting MRR plus expansion, minus contraction and churn, divided by starting MRR, for a cohort over a period. Above 100% means existing customers grow in value overall.

Example

Start 100,000, expansion 8,000, contraction 2,000, churn 4,000: NRR is 102%.
